Babies get shunned
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel inmy sister was recently disfellowshipped and she told me that she was eating in a restaurant yesterday when the elder that disfellowshipped her was seated at the table next to her.
of course they would not breathe a word to her.
but her son (4 years old) had kept saying hello over and over to the elder and his wife and they both refused to acknowledge him, smile of even say hello back.

You're right, it's not normal human behavior, they're not normal. Psychological torture is their MO.

I had a serious accident several years ago: with a broken femur and much bleeding, I waited for several hours in the ER, with xrays and drugs and being made as comfortable as poss--staff explained they could not get a doctor to take my case because no one wanted the risk of a 19 yr old female with a lot of blood loss who wouldn't take blood. Can't say I'd blame them.

That's a powerful statement to our child-hating parents.
In trying to force logic upon mine, I've said 'in ten years when you're on your death beds you can say 'I'm so glad we haven't talked to our youngest daughter for 10 years--it was all worth it' but you will die and I will die like others before us, the difference is you'll die with your hatred in tact and you'll think that your evil god will remember you for that'. . .
It may sound awful, but it's reality, and it's really a walk in the park after 'you're not our daughter anymore'. . .

I was 9, in the KH late one night, and from the back room, I heard Elder Rosenberg screaming at my parents that my brother MADE his son drink and drive and get a DUI. My parents came out sobbing. It was awful, we all cried on the way home. The elders had decided to Disassociate my brother, but not this elder's kid.
I thought we were all friends and that everything should be done fairly, and without yelling! My family was a wreck over this for a long time but never missed meetings; my dad never went to the CO or anyone about it, even though he should have. They believed it was a test and that they have to forgive and just walk around with an elder's boot up their asses.

Heard the phrase "Are you in the truth or is the truth in you?"
by truthseeker inthis was said to me by a brother who went on to leave the truth and resume his alternative lifestyle.. so, how many of you here were just "in the truth?

Sorry, bitterness came out of me right then.
I was both, I tried really hard all the time as an adult to do the right thing, to look out for the 'weak', to bring dinner to sick people and families who just had a baby, and the like. I answered frequently, studying 'the deeper things', was always ready to give a substitute talk, I visited the inactive and took them out in service, even for a half an hour, I believed that doing all these things should be done by people who had the love of truth in them.
I studied all the time, I prayed a lot, about everything, I confessed to J all the time about my feelings and thoughts; I sacrificed so much of my youth because that's what I believed I should do. I was a flippin' JW posterchild.
And it was so F'n easy to toss it when I saw the meanness of the Hohos; I saw the real face of 'the truth' and was finished.

Yeah yeah, when I was ten, and with a pen was filling in the letters on the cover of a WT, and old sour sister (not mine, but possibly someone's) leaned over to me, and in disgust said, 'Ask yourself, Are you in the truth or is the truth in you?' I replied with a blank stare, to which she said, 'Your drawing is putting you in a rut. Do you know what a rut is? It's a grave.' I cried, I was only drawing.
I never went near her again, but years later she was inactive and lonely and then got DF'd, probably for being a bitch.
And that, my friends is the difference between a SOUR sister and a SOUL sister.

The Build Up to March 10, 2008
by sweet pea inso, everyone, do you think there's any mileage in planning a campaign leading up to the watchtower study on the faithful and discreet slave being appointed in 1919?
who's planning on doing some personal study on this one with their family?
i'm sure open mind has something up his sleeve?

I liked this post a few days ago: The MIstake Witnesses Will Make On March 10, 2008. I copied much of the info therein and sent an email to my parents with the subject line similar to the thread title. The silly math contained in the FM book is shameful doctrine. Maybe they're read it, even just a little.
